that he donated a trophy, henceforth called the Nehru Trophy to the town of
Alappuzha where this event is held annually. Giant snake boats called "Chundanvalloms"
which can seat up to 100 rowers engage in a contest to win the coveted Nehru

Temple Festival Thrissur:

This
magnificent temple festival is held in Thrissur every year during the month
of Medom according to the Malayalam calendar, which falls in April-May every

ornaments. The colorful umbrellas and decorations are changed several times
in a ritual display as two rows of elephants stand facing each other. Spirited
